Christmas Cards II

Here`s my second installment of Christmas cards.  This time I was also able to use scraps!  The reindeer stamp comes from a Hero Arts clear stamp set.  The sentiment and heart stamp are from (I believe) a Stampendous stamp set.


Materials Used: 
  • Recollections 65 lb cardstock
  • Various scraps of Christmas paper
  • Hero Arts clear stamps
  • Versafine black ink with clear embossing powder
  • Spectrum Noir alcohol markers
  • Diamond stickles
  • Spellbinders label 8 dies
  • Distress ink in Vintage Photo for inking edges
  • D`Vine swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder
  • Brown satin ribbon
  • ATG adhesive and 1/8" foam adhesive

Christmas Cards

There's 3 weeks until Christmas and my cards are not done!!!


These cards were super easy to make and better yet, used up a bunch of those Christmas paper scraps.
The main image is a sentiment and small bird stamps from Hero Arts, colored with Spectrum Noir markers and jazzed up with some diamond stickles.





Materials Used:

  • Recollections 65 lb cardstock
  • Crate Paper Snow Day paper and various other scraps
  • Hero Arts clear stamps
  • Versafine black ink with clear embossing powder
  • Spectrum Noir alcohol markers
  • Diamond stickles
  • Spellbinders circle die
  • Distress ink in Vintage Photo for inking edges
  • Fiskars scalloped border punch
  • Bakers twine (various colors)
  • ATG adhesive and 1/8" foam adhesive


Using the same bird image on a couple of different layouts - again, a great way to use up scraps!

    • Adhesive pearls (from the dollar store)

Halloween Cards

Birthday Cards

A couple of birthday cards - one for my friend and one for her sweet little boy.

Her card is a shaker card, filled with pink and orange seed beads and sequins.  The cupcakes were stamped using a Unity Stamp Co. stamp and colored in using Spectrum Noir markers.


Materials Used:
  • "1,2,3,4,5 Thousand Cupcake Calories" stamp by Unity Stamp Co.
  • Memento black ink
  • Spectrum Noir alcohol ink markers
  • Diamond Stickles
  • Pink and orange seed beads and sequins
  • Spellbinders "Labels 11" for the window and frame
  • Glittered stripe paper from Recollections "Pretty as a Peacock" stack 

The background of his card was stamped on white card stock using a cloud stamp and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The blue is a combination of various colors of Distress ink blended with Diamond glimmer mist.  The little parrot was stamped using a Recollection clear stamp and colored in using Spectrum Noir markers.  The flag banner was stamped directly onto the background and paper pieced using various scraps.

Rolled Rose Wreath (Neutral)

This is my second rolled rose wreath.  I went with a more neutral palette this time around.




Materials Used:

  • 15 sheets of 12x12 papers from  My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2 (180 Stack)
  • 12" foam wreath form
  • 48" of 4" sheer white ribbon
  • Various sizes of brown and tan half pearls
  • Hot glue to attach all pieces together

Cupcake Boxes

Who doesn't love cupcakes?  I spent the weekend creating these little cupcake boxes for my nieces.


This more grown-up version , along with matching card, was created for my friend's 30th birthday.


This card inspired me to make a full set of "birthday chic" boxes with matching cards and package them in a small gift box.  The final gift box measures 5.25"x5.25"x1.25".






Materials Used:

  • Recollections 12x12 65lb card stock.
  • My Mind's Eye "Lime Twist" 180pg paper stack
  • Recollections "Retro Collage" paper stack
  • Acetate
  • Embossing Powder - Recollections Party Pink, American Crafts Red Metallic and American Crafts Teal Metallic.
  • Black velvet 1/4" ribbon and a few small 1/8" ribbon scraps for accents
  • Happy Birthday stamp
  • Terrifically Tacky tape to adhere the boxes
  • Recollections 2" scalloped circle punch
  • Cricut cartridge - Forever Young

DIY Small Storage for under $10

A super cute, very functional and easy to make small storage cube.  The mini cube shelf measures 15.25"x15.25"x4.25" and is made of white foam board.  Each box measures 4"x4"x4" and is made of card stock.






Materials Used:

  • Recollections 65lb cardstock in kraft for the boxes - $2.00
  •  5 sheets of K&Company 'Carolyn Gavin' specialty paper for decoration - $2.50
  • Various cardstock scraps for the box lids
  • Terrifically Tacky tape to adhere the boxes
  • 2 sheets of white foam board for the shelf - $2.50
  • Glue gun and hot glue to attach the shelf pieces
